The New Great Britain was operated by the British Colonial Steamship Company Limited, better known as the Temperley Line.

NEW GREAT BRITAIN - 1859 Master: Captain R. Kerr Rigging: Ship; sheathed in felt and yellow metal in 1857 Tonnage: 553 tons using old measurements and 570 tons using new measurements Construction: 1854 in Sunderland; repairs to damages in 1857 Owners: Temperly Port of registry: London Port of survey: Southampton Voyage: sailed for China
